Home Fire Displaces Four In Area

The Union Vale Fire Department received notice of the fire at the home on Route 82 around 11:48 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, the department said.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a  fully involved structure fire in the attic area on the second floor of the home and a second alarm was dispatched. 

All occupants made it safely out of the home once the fire began, the department said.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by noon. No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The home was received extensive damage making it unliveable, officials said.

The residents were provided assistance by the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Other departments assisting at the scene included Beekman, Dover, East Fishkill, LaGrange, Millbrook, and Pleasant Valley. Fire Departments assisting on scene included: Beekman, Dover, East Fishkill, LaGrange and Pleasant Valley.
